Taxation
> HST/GST/PST Liability
HST, GST and PST are forms of sales tax that must be paid when consumers buy goods and that must be remitted to the government by sellers or business owners. HST stands for Harmonized Sales Tax, which is a combination of PST and GST. GST stands for Goods and Services Tax, which is a value-added tax imposed by the federal government. PST stands for Provincial Sales Tax, which is imposed by the separate provinces. You must comply with state and federal obligations in paying these taxes or you can be subject to penalties and costs.
