Maxim Zavet

Maxim Zavet is one of the founders of Porco Levy Zavet LLP and is an experienced real estate lawyer in the Ontario area. Maxim primarily practices in real estate and commercial leasing, representing clients in residential and commercial real estate transactions. Mr. Zavet assists clients in negotiations, private and institutional secured financing matters and condominium development. Maxim is passionate about real estate, real estate development and financing, and he has gained much legal experience working at reputable real estate law firms in the past.

Maxim Zavet has been involved in hundreds of residential and commercial real estate transactions, representing a wide group of diverse clientele. His range of clients includes individual home-buyers, real estate investors, income property managers, developers, commercial landlords and commercial tenants. Maxim also represents both lenders and borrowers in matters relating to secured loans and mortgages. For borrowers, Maxim reviews, explains and negotiates complicated financing instruments while for lenders, he works to secure loans, assist lenders in enforcing power of sales clauses, or help lenders to complete foreclosures.

Maxim has also represented many clients in property line disputes, Tarion home warranty claims, commercial leasing disputes, failed transactions and purchase and sale breaches. Maxim has negotiated settlements, as well as represented clients in courts at all levels.

Education

• Bachelor of Arts (Honors) from York University in the field of political science with a primary focus on domestic and foreign policy and political economy. Awarded in 2003.
• Juris Doctorate from the University of Windsor where he was an elected student representative and volunteered at the community legal aid clinic. Awarded in 2007.
• Participant in continuing legal educations seminars and courses accredited by the Upper Canada Law Society and Ontario Bar Association.
