Colin Lyle

Colin Lyle is the head legal counsel for all family law matters at Porco Levy Zavet LLP. Colin has 13 years  experience in  all aspects of family law including divorce, property division,  support,  custody,  domestic agreements (cohabitation, marriage and separation), and adoption. Colin has also been involved in all forms of alternate dispute resolution including parenting co-ordination, mediations, and arbitrations.

Colin’s approach to family law is to encourage negotiation and settlement of matters in the most amicable, timely, cost effective, and child focused manner possible. Colin is passionate about his work, and as a strong advocate for his clients, will not hesitate to vigorously represent them in high conflict and complex court cases. With this in mind, Colin has extensive experience in all stages of court litigation including settlement conferences, contested motions, and trials relating to such issues as child custody and parental mobility rights.

Colin graduated with a law degree from McGill University in 1995 and a Masters in Public Policy and Public Administration from Concordia University in 1998. Colin is a member of the Family Lawyer’s Association of Toronto.

Colin is committed to returning calls and e-mails promptly, and keeping clients informed on what is happening with their case. Colin also provides a free half hour consultation during which he is up front with clients as to their rights, obligations and options, what they are likely to achieve, and the potential costs of their case. Colin is willing to negotiate block fee retainers for particular family law matters.
